This iii-pickup set (APS2) delivers all the Strat chime and bell tone that great Stratocaster pickups are known for with a sweeter sounding treble assault and flat alnico 2 rod poles.
TECH SPECS
DCR – Short for DC Resistance, is measured in Ohms and is the total resistance of the copper wire wound around a coil class. The length of the coil form, the number of turns and the gauge of wire all affect the DCR reading. DCR is ofttimes used equally a approximate of output considering as the turns increase, and so does the output, though magnet type and the whorl geometry besides influence output. Magnet – We use several different magnet formulations: Alnico 2, Alnico three, Alnico iv, Alnico 5, Alnico half-dozen, Alnico 8 and Ceramic 5/8. In the case of pickups, the virtually pregnant characteristic is the gauss force, which is a measure of the density of the magnetic field. Of the magnets we utilize, Alnico iii has the lowest gauss strength. From there in order of ascending strength yous have A2, A4, A5, A6, Ceramic and A8. Equally the gauss force goes up, then does the output. The magnets at the lower end of the scale tend to produce a softer attack and a degree of "bloom" to the envelope of the note. Ceramic magnets should exist considered as an individual case because they do not contain whatever nickel or iron. This has the outcome of decreasing the inductance of the pickup and significantly raising the resonant frequency. It is for this reason that many consider ceramic magnets to have a brittle audio, not their gauss force. The Alnico 2 Pro for Strat prepare uses flat (not-staggered) hand ground alnico ii rod magnets and heavy Formvar magazine wire with a special wind blueprint to produce that archetype bouncy tone you'd expect from the all-time 50s Stratocaster pickups. The flat pole design is designed to improve string residual and response on guitars that employ lighter strings or have flatter fretboards. The treble attack is soft and sugariness, the mids experience but slightly scooped, while the low end has a vintage sponginess. Chords have a prissy, smooth feel, and single notes accept a singing, musical character.
Includes a reverse wound, reverse polarity heart pickup for noiseless operation in positions 2 & 4. Bated from the flat pole pieces, we use the same materials to build these as nosotros do for all our vintage Fender style unmarried coil pickups. We first by assembling the bobbins with the proper color and thickness of hand filed Forbon flatwork and alnico 2 magnets. We and then lacquer our bobbins merely as it was done during Fenders Golden Age.
This pickup comes complete with waxed and tinned cloth pushback hook-upwardly wires and traditional keyed bottom plate. Like all our pickups, the Alnico two Pro Flat Stratocaster pickups are potted in our wax formulation for squeal free performance.
Neck/Middle/Span position models will have the same output, wind direction and magnetic polarity.
Heart RwRP position (opposite air current/reverse polarity) – choose this to have a pickup that will be hum-cancelling with one of our neck or bridge models.
All sets, except the Jimi Hendrix signature model, come with a Middle RWRP as the Eye Pickup.
